Guys, my roots are coming in and for those of you who don’t know,  I had my hair permanently straightened almost two years ago. You can check it out in this post. I am quite conflicted if I should re-straighten it or just let me natural waves take over. My hair here is the aftermath of drying naturally and me trying to curl the straight parts of my hair to match my roots. Although I do think my curly hair gives me character, something about my straight hair makes me feel a little more me. I am a very indecisive person so we will see what I end up doing. Opinions?

On to my outfit, I am so in love with this yellow floral kimono. It is just so bright and airy and perfect for summer. Since it was a bit chilly I decided to wear it with an old pair of Forever 21 pants. I think they are about two years old and I have definitely been on the lookout for a new pair because these fit me a little too big. I decided to pair it with a white tank to give a monochromatic look and to allow the yellow to just pop!

And the arm party that is currently going on is my total fave! These three gold bracelets are playful and sophisticated and I basically wear them with my watch like everyday.

When Spring Meets Winter

We’ve been experiencing typical spring weather here in LA. It’s beautiful and sunny but the winds are like crazy and a slight overcast will occur every hour or so. It makes it really difficult to pick out an outfit that will be comfortable throughout the day.

I loved this spring dress and winter sweater combo so much that I wanted to wear it every day this week. Disclaimer: This sweater actually belongs to my best friend and it is pretty much the best thing ever because it is super chunky and really warm. She’s amazing and lets me borrow it like all the time… So I decided to wear it over this really soft white dress that has some crochet detailing at the bottom. I had never thought to wear such two opposites but I loved the result! The outfit felt complete with my favorite boots and a statement ring with a dainty necklace to finish off the look.

Currently Craving: Blush and Tan

Blush2

Lip gloss. Crop Top. Necklace. Bikini. Purse. Shoes. Hat

I am totally obsessed with all things blush and all things tan-colored. I mean I’m really obsessed with the color pink in general. But something about blush is just so soft and elegant. To me, blush is in between a pale pink and a bright pink. I really want to incorporate more blush tones in my wardrobe for spring and summer. Out of all my fave blush items, I must say that the bikini is one that I’ve been wanting for a while. I follow  this brand on instagram and their bathing suits look awesome! And all the items on the tan side are things that I hope to acquire soon. It’s really important to have a purse or two for spring and summer that will go with any outfit. Since I use my Juicy tote like all the time I am looking to purchase another go-to purse. I particularly like a simple brown leather option.

Would love to know if you have any items that you are currently craving?

Spring Fever

Spring is totally in the air and I am welcoming it with open arms. Spring is my favorite season for many reasons, one being that my birthday is in April. I also love it because this is when beautiful flowers start to bloom in the most beautiful and bright colors. I am starting to embrace lighter colors and fresher fabrics as the weather begins to shift. I have owned this blouse for a while now and it is the perfect shade of peach in a very light fabric. And these pants are my new obsession! Not only did I get these on sale on Target BUT they have the most beautiful watercolor print in a ridiculously fresh fabric. They are kind of like work out pants in disguise. This look would not have been complete without my Juicy bracelet. I don’t wear it often because it is rather chunky but when I do wear it I know I am making a statement!

Stuck in Colder Weather

Let me tell you how I feel about cold weather… I hate it. Being cold to me is painful and does unflattering things to my body such as a red nose and dry, goosebumpy skin. The only bright side is that I can wear really cute scarves and beanies and most importantly leggings. This outfit is kind of my winter uniform with a few variations depending on the day. The most important item is my mom’s beige cardigan which has made itself comfortable in my closet this season (sorry mom). It’s a thick sweater in a neutral color which basically means I can wear it everyday. Since this outfit is clearly black and tan tones I HAD to have a pop of color through accessories. This beanie has been my favorite for years. I’ve always loved the color blush and the embellishments add the perfect touch of sparkle. And I am also totally obsessed with my new lipstick from Sephora. I can’t wait to buy more from this collection.

PS. The title of this post does not only summarize how I feel about my current situation in this dreadful weather but it is also a small line from the song Colder Weather by Zac Brown Band which is on serious repeat as of lately.

My Brother’s Sweater

I have a younger brother who is 18 years old and he is easily my favorite person in the world. We are complete opposites but since we are pretty close in age we have always had a special bond that I am extremely grateful for. This bond is so close that he doesn’t stop me from borrowing his sweaters every now and then. There’s something extra comfy about wearing a boys sweater. This gray one has been my favorite for a while and when my brother grew out of it he finally let me have it. I usually wear it with leggings and  tall boots, but this time I wanted to dress it up a bit. I automatically went for my new favorite necklace from Charming Charlie. It takes any outfit to the next level! I wanted the gray to pop so I paired it with my white pants and cuffed them at the bottom to show off my brown ankle boots. This outfit was perfect for a date night!

Plaid and Leather

We’re going to rewind here for a second and talk about Black Friday. My only Black Friday experience was a year ago when I worked at Michael Kors for the weekend. I have never gone out shopping, even though the deals are extremely tempting. This year however I couldn’t resist the temptation any longer. I went to Target at like 9:00 at night on Friday. If I was going to shop at one store that day, it of course was going to be Target. I ended up scoring on this plaid jacket with faux leather detailing. It has become the perfect jacket to dress up a pair of jeans. I also received these boots as an early Christmas gift. I am absolutely in love with them and I can’t wait to wear them with so many outfits. Also, lets talk about jeans… I hate buying them. I can never find the right size, the right cut or wash. This is why I have had the same pair of jeans for over 4 years. But, I really did need to find a new pair, so I came across this pair of Jolt Jeans at Nordstrom Rack. What I like about these is they are super comfortable and stretchy. Usually denim is stiff but these allow me to feel flexible when I’m out running errands or lounging around the house all day. They were definitely a great buy!

I am finally a senior!! I can’t believe that in just nine short months I will be a college graduate. I’ve definitely been soaking up each day in order to truly embrace my last year as a student.

My style has definitely been evolving over time, each outfit seems to be a little more sophisticated, but also a bit daring. I am less opposed to taking fashion risks and I find it thrilling when I come up with an outfit that I would have never worn before.  For example I paired this soft, chambray shirt dress with edgy, black boots. I think the contrast from the boots and the dress is unexpected but pleasing to the eye. I kept my accessories dark with a black purse and black and gold necklace. The necklace adds a touch of glam that stands out against the denim. I can’t wait to pair this dress with socks and boots for colder days in fall!

Summer Uniform

DSC_3280copyDSC_3278copyDSC_3285copy DSC_3288copy DSC_3291copyDSC_3300copyDSC_3296copy DSC_3314copyShorts: Charlotte Russe, Blouse: (Similar), Shoes: ShoeMint (Similar), Watch & Clutch: Kate Spade, Sunnies: BP. Nordstrom

When summer first started for me back in May I was determined to add some more shorts to my wardrobe. I basically had the essentials, a pair of white and blue denim shorts. I am pretty picky about the types of shorts I wear due to the fact that my waist size is smaller than my thigh size so finding a pair that fits me properly is always a challenge. I was thrilled when I found these printed ones at Charlotte Russe because they were on sale for $10! Not only are they a super cute print, but they are elastic and lose fitting so I was able to get my size and not worry about them being too tight. I bought another pair in a chevron pattern and I have worn both of them multiple times this summer.

Ever since I was little my summer uniform was shorts, a tank-top and flip flops. I am happy I was able to create an outfit using my usual outline, yet this time it’s more sophisticated and classy. In a future post I will show how I style my Charlotte Russe chevron printed shorts.

What’s your summer uniform?

My Favorite Sweater

Sweater: INC (similar), Blouse: Charlotte Russe, Hat and Tights: Target, Boots: Gianni Bini, Purse: Juicy Couture, Necklace: Michael Kors,Watch: Nordstrom (old), Bracelets: Juicy Couture (similar) and Things Remembered

I last wrote about this sweater in April when I wore it with jeans and an oxford shirt. This outfit is completely different but just shows how versatile the sweater is. Even though this outfit is all black, the stripes and tan color from the sweater create some depth and keep it visually appealing. I felt the outfit had room for some heavy accessorizing  so I borrowed this gorgeous Michael Kors necklace from my Aunt Elsa (Thank you!) and also wore my cloche hat from Target. I am excited for the colder weather because now I get to bring out all my hats and scarfs. I have to try really hard not to wear one every single day. But they are just so cute!
