Dress: Altuzarra for Target, Shoes: Shoemint: Clutch: StyleInc., Sunglasses: kate spade, Necklace: Forever 21

Whether you are into Fashion or not, I am sure it was hard to ignore the NYFW buzz two weeks ago! Now that MFW is underway, I thought I would share what I would have worn to NYFW! Here’s the thing, NY is known to be uncomfortably hot, yet we want to dress up in our fall favorites- so finding the balance between the two is key.

Now, not all of us can afford to wear designer duds, but that’s okay! With the help of collaborations like Altuzarra for Target, we can achieve that designer look without breaking the bank! I thought this dress fit the bill perfectly for the occasion with its crisp and clean construction, and although it is light in color and fabric, it serves as a nice transition piece from summer to fall.

I kept the shoes neutral and added a pop of pattern with my clutch. And of course, no NYWF street style pic is complete without a killer pair of shades!

If you bought anything for the Altuzarra collection, I would love to see how you styled it! #adryonthedaily in your picture or post a link to your blog down in the comments.

Shirt: Target (similar), Shorts: Charlotte Russe, Boots: Target, Purse: Kate Spade

My go-to outfit combination is a pair of loose shorts and a chambray shirt. I got these amazing chevron shorts a year ago at a Charlotte Russe sale and they were only $10! I bought another pair which I wore in this post. My chambray shirt is probably the most worn item in my closet as you have seen me wear it on the blog many times. Even though it is summer I chose to wear my ankle boots for a bit of height since the shorts are pretty short. I think it adds a bit of edge to the outfit as well. I pulled my hair up into a messy top-knot to accentuate my collar. I hardly ever wear my hair up but I really liked my new method for top-knots.

What are your go-to outfit combos? I would love to try!

Cargo Pants and Pops of Pink

Tank: Old Navy (similar), Bralette: Target, Pants: Forever 21 (similar here and here), Purse: Jessica Simpson

There are obvious items that every girl should have in her wardrobe such as a great pair of jeans, a chambray shirt, a blazer, etc. However one item that I have had for a while and I have found to be very versatile have been these brown cargo pants from Forever 21 that I bought a few years ago. I have been able to dress them up and down and they are really, really comfortable. When I hear the word cargo I tend to think of baggy boy shorts, but I love the skinny fit of these which allow me to cuff them at the ankle for a more casual feel. Since the color is a little dull I decided to wear a bright pink bralette underneath a loose white tank top. My passion ice tea was also helpful in adding a bit of color to this outfit.

HAIR NEWS: Did you notice my hair is shorter? I finally, after two years, got a hair cut. And that’s not all. I ALSO got my hair straightened again. Two years ago I had my hair straightened which I wrote about here. After many mornings stressing about my curly, tangled, frizzy hair I knew it was time to make my life a whole easier and get my hair done again. I use the Japanese method as opposed to the Brazilian and I absolutely love it!

If I am being totally honest here I have no idea where I bought this dress or when I bought it. I THINK I bought it around middle school or maybe early high school. What I love about this dress is its ode to a Puebla style dress. I love the eyelet and embroidered detailing that runs along the hemline, sleeves and neckline. My family is from Mexico so I love anything that play a little tribute to my culture. I paired the dress with some wedges in a neutral color because I wanted to the details of the dress to really stand out here. Wearing my hat and sunnies was the perfect touch for such a sunny day and it really gave this outfit a vacation style look.

Pink Sweats and Striped Tanks

When I first decided I wanted to start a blog it took me a while to figure what I wanted to name it. After what seemed like months of debating I came up with adry on the daily. I picked this name because I wanted my blog to be a representation of my daily life. It’s hard to wear your every day clothes when other bloggers are wearing glammed up looks. But this blog is meant to inspire fashionable looks even when you are running errands or even just hanging out at home. There is no reason you can’t feel your very best even when you are wearing sweat pants.

I have never been much of a sweat pants girl and all the pairs I own have been gifted to me, just like these pink ones that my mom gave me for Christmas. It came with a matching sweater and I fell in love with the set for so many reasons! First off, I am obsessed with the color blush and I adore the subtle gold details. I also really love how they are slim fit and I prefer to wear them scrunched up at the calf. Since it was a bit hot out I paired the pant with an old StyleMint tank and a bralette underneath. I have to say that I am entirely obsessed with this bralette. Not only does it have gold polka dots (score!) but it’s really comfortable and it provides a nice break from wearing a regular bra.

For a casual look like this, I just put my hair up in a high pony and curled the ends a little to add volume. For my makeup, all I did was put on my favorite BB cream, blush, mascara and lip gloss. I also chose to wear my tote purse which is ideal when running errands.

Crop Top and Skirt: Target, Sandals: Wet Seal, Hat: Windsor, Bracelet: Kate Spade: Sunnies: Nordstrom BP.

As you already know, I have a mild, I mean major obsession with polka dots so it was only a matter of time till I created an entire look using some of my many polka dot pieces. Instead of wearing a skirt with the same black and white polka dot print as my crop top, I went for a more subtle approach and wore this skirt that has a polka dot pattern in a reduced size and color palette.

I recently bought this hat from Windsor and I am so happy with it! I am pretty picky when it comes to brim size and this seems to be the perfect match. I wore my favorite sunnies and some comfortable black sandals. I then topped it off with… yup, a polka dot bracelet. I thought, hey one more thing can’t hurt!

Dress: Guess by Marciano, Shoes: ShoeMint, Clutch: Style&co, Ring: Kate Spade

A couple of weeks ago I had my college version of “prom.” My school planned a dance on a yacht and since it was during prom season I of course treated it like a real senior prom, minus the over the top glitz and glamour dress. Instead I wanted something classy and elegant yet still very modern. I found this dress at the Guess by Marciano store and it was love at first sight. (It was the first dress I tried on when I went shopping, like when does that ever happen?) I fell in love with the material because it was thick and hugged my shape perfectly. Since being on a boat is always really chilly the long sleeves were a major plus because I wouldn’t have to worry about carrying a coat. Wearing a dress with cutouts was kind of a huge step for me. I tend to dress a little more on the conservative side but these cutouts weren’t very revealing. This dress allowed me to show just enough skin while still being pretty covered up. I of course wore my amazing ShoeMint heels. I danced for like two hours straight in these suckers. Seriously, thank you ShoeMint!!!

Here are two pictures from that night. Sorry the photo quality is terrible, iPhone cameras at night just don’t work well together. And yes, this is my boyfriends blog debut! Meet Kevin (:

Guys, my roots are coming in and for those of you who don’t know,  I had my hair permanently straightened almost two years ago. You can check it out in this post. I am quite conflicted if I should re-straighten it or just let me natural waves take over. My hair here is the aftermath of drying naturally and me trying to curl the straight parts of my hair to match my roots. Although I do think my curly hair gives me character, something about my straight hair makes me feel a little more me. I am a very indecisive person so we will see what I end up doing. Opinions?

On to my outfit, I am so in love with this yellow floral kimono. It is just so bright and airy and perfect for summer. Since it was a bit chilly I decided to wear it with an old pair of Forever 21 pants. I think they are about two years old and I have definitely been on the lookout for a new pair because these fit me a little too big. I decided to pair it with a white tank to give a monochromatic look and to allow the yellow to just pop!

And the arm party that is currently going on is my total fave! These three gold bracelets are playful and sophisticated and I basically wear them with my watch like everyday.

When Spring Meets Winter

We’ve been experiencing typical spring weather here in LA. It’s beautiful and sunny but the winds are like crazy and a slight overcast will occur every hour or so. It makes it really difficult to pick out an outfit that will be comfortable throughout the day.

I loved this spring dress and winter sweater combo so much that I wanted to wear it every day this week. Disclaimer: This sweater actually belongs to my best friend and it is pretty much the best thing ever because it is super chunky and really warm. She’s amazing and lets me borrow it like all the time… So I decided to wear it over this really soft white dress that has some crochet detailing at the bottom. I had never thought to wear such two opposites but I loved the result! The outfit felt complete with my favorite boots and a statement ring with a dainty necklace to finish off the look.

How to make a sequins skirt casual

editDSC_0765c DSC_0772c DSC_0775cDSC_0795c DSC_0796c DSC_0809c DSC_0810c DSC_0811cDSC_0817cChambray and T-shirt: Target, Skirt: Laura’s Boutique, Shoes: Converse

I started doing some spring cleaning this week. I happily started to put my winter clothes away and started to bring back my spring/summer clothes. I then came across this sequins skirt which I bought for New Years Eve. I absolutely love this skirt and I really did not want to put it away till next year. So…. I decided to pair it with a simple white Tee and my trusty chambray to dress it down a bit. To take the casual factor up a notch I also wore my Converse. I was more than pleased with the results! Later in the day I put my hair in a top knot and I actually liked the outfit even more.

So don’t shy away from putting away those sequins skirts you wore over the holidays. Show me how you style your sequence for an everyday look and #adryonthedaily.
