Dress: Guess by Marciano, Shoes: ShoeMint, Clutch: Style&co, Ring: Kate Spade

A couple of weeks ago I had my college version of “prom.” My school planned a dance on a yacht and since it was during prom season I of course treated it like a real senior prom, minus the over the top glitz and glamour dress. Instead I wanted something classy and elegant yet still very modern. I found this dress at the Guess by Marciano store and it was love at first sight. (It was the first dress I tried on when I went shopping, like when does that ever happen?) I fell in love with the material because it was thick and hugged my shape perfectly. Since being on a boat is always really chilly the long sleeves were a major plus because I wouldn’t have to worry about carrying a coat. Wearing a dress with cutouts was kind of a huge step for me. I tend to dress a little more on the conservative side but these cutouts weren’t very revealing. This dress allowed me to show just enough skin while still being pretty covered up. I of course wore my amazing ShoeMint heels. I danced for like two hours straight in these suckers. Seriously, thank you ShoeMint!!!

Here are two pictures from that night. Sorry the photo quality is terrible, iPhone cameras at night just don’t work well together. And yes, this is my boyfriends blog debut! Meet Kevin (:

Looking back at my new year’s post for 2013, I can’t believe how much has changed since then. I have grown personally and professionally. Personally, I would say that 2013 was a year for self-discovery. I could “breath again” as I liked to call it. My relationships with the people I loved grew stronger and I broke those that I felt brought negativity to my life. I’ve never laughed harder, smiled more and cried less in my whole life. Professionally, I gained a lot as well. My biggest achievement was landing my dream internship with BeachMint as a social media intern over the summer. As a walked into the Santa Monica office every other day, I knew that a career in fashion was exactly the right choice for me. I also became the General Manager of my schools radio station. I am grateful for this opportunity to apply my business skills in to something that I have grown passionate about. This job has taught me how to become a better leader, a better team mate and a better business woman. I can honestly say that 2013 was my favorite year and I know my years in the future are only going to get better.

2014 will be a special year. It will be the year I graduate with my Business Degree. This has been a goal of mine since I was a little girl and I can’t believe it’s only 5 months away. Therefore I know this year will be an exciting time in my life and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!

Thank you for the continuous love and support!! xo

When I say that I love personalized items, I mean I will cherish forever, you’re my best friend, big hug, LOVE personalized items. You see, my name is name is spelled quite differently. And after years of disappointment when looking for my name on key chains at Disneyland, I realized that I would have to get certain things personalized. Therefore, you can imagine my excitement when my mom bought me this heart bracelet from Things Remembered. BUT, I was even more excited when my mom bought me this special Kate Spade clutch. (Thank you Madre!!)  Not only have I been literally fantasizing about clutches lately, but it’s a special collaboration with French blogger and photographer Garance Dore. So in a way I felt like this was also very personalized because it’s an exclusive edition and I just like to think that Kate Spade made this personally for me (don’t laugh). And for the record, my new goal is to work at Kate Spade. Definitely my dream job!
