Dress: Guess by Marciano, Shoes: ShoeMint, Clutch: Style&co, Ring: Kate Spade

A couple of weeks ago I had my college version of “prom.” My school planned a dance on a yacht and since it was during prom season I of course treated it like a real senior prom, minus the over the top glitz and glamour dress. Instead I wanted something classy and elegant yet still very modern. I found this dress at the Guess by Marciano store and it was love at first sight. (It was the first dress I tried on when I went shopping, like when does that ever happen?) I fell in love with the material because it was thick and hugged my shape perfectly. Since being on a boat is always really chilly the long sleeves were a major plus because I wouldn’t have to worry about carrying a coat. Wearing a dress with cutouts was kind of a huge step for me. I tend to dress a little more on the conservative side but these cutouts weren’t very revealing. This dress allowed me to show just enough skin while still being pretty covered up. I of course wore my amazing ShoeMint heels. I danced for like two hours straight in these suckers. Seriously, thank you ShoeMint!!!

Here are two pictures from that night. Sorry the photo quality is terrible, iPhone cameras at night just don’t work well together. And yes, this is my boyfriends blog debut! Meet Kevin (:

My best friends older sister got married last weekend, which kinda felt like my older sister was getting married. It was a beautiful backyard country wedding, a wedding that looked straight out of Pinterest. I wore this dress, which I bought a while back from one of my favorite boutiques in Downtown Brea, SUO. They carry pieces that are really unique and I feel like I am leaving with my own little gem every time I leave their store.  I fell in love with this dress for various reasons, such as the coral color and beautiful lace detailing in the front. The loose sleeves and short length gave it a 60’s vibe that was different from any other dress I’ve worn before. I paired the dress with my new Appolina ShoeMint Heels. They were surprisingly comfortable for such tall heels which means I totally scored with these! I kept the hair and accessories very simple because I wanted the dress and shoes to be the main focus. Most importantly though, I had the pleasure of witnessing the start of a beautiful marriage. Congratulations Katie and Aaron!

Summer Uniform

DSC_3280copyDSC_3278copyDSC_3285copy DSC_3288copy DSC_3291copyDSC_3300copyDSC_3296copy DSC_3314copyShorts: Charlotte Russe, Blouse: (Similar), Shoes: ShoeMint (Similar), Watch & Clutch: Kate Spade, Sunnies: BP. Nordstrom

When summer first started for me back in May I was determined to add some more shorts to my wardrobe. I basically had the essentials, a pair of white and blue denim shorts. I am pretty picky about the types of shorts I wear due to the fact that my waist size is smaller than my thigh size so finding a pair that fits me properly is always a challenge. I was thrilled when I found these printed ones at Charlotte Russe because they were on sale for $10! Not only are they a super cute print, but they are elastic and lose fitting so I was able to get my size and not worry about them being too tight. I bought another pair in a chevron pattern and I have worn both of them multiple times this summer.

Ever since I was little my summer uniform was shorts, a tank-top and flip flops. I am happy I was able to create an outfit using my usual outline, yet this time it’s more sophisticated and classy. In a future post I will show how I style my Charlotte Russe chevron printed shorts.

What’s your summer uniform?

I wore this outfit to school one day on a whim. My white dress shirt and jeans has been my go-to outfit lately. Yet, I wanted to add another piece to the look so it wouldn’t be so repetitive. So where did I go to find a stylish piece? My mom’s closet of course. She bought this black and tan sweater that is perfect for a chilly day. Thank you Madre!

I wore the same sweater with a black long sleeve shirt, black leggings, and my Taupe Jolly shoes from ShoeMint. I was told I looked like a Kardashian. Now some may not consider that a compliment but you have to admit, they do have great sense of style! So I was very flattered.
