There are obvious items that every girl should have in her wardrobe such as a great pair of jeans, a chambray shirt, a blazer, etc. However one item that I have had for a while and I have found to be very versatile have been these brown cargo pants from Forever 21 that I bought a few years ago. I have been able to dress them up and down and they are really, really comfortable. When I hear the word cargo I tend to think of baggy boy shorts, but I love the skinny fit of these which allow me to cuff them at the ankle for a more casual feel. Since the color is a little dull I decided to wear a bright pink bralette underneath a loose white tank top. My passion ice tea was also helpful in adding a bit of color to this outfit.

HAIR NEWS: Did you notice my hair is shorter? I finally, after two years, got a hair cut. And that’s not all. I ALSO got my hair straightened again. Two years ago I had my hair straightened which I wrote about here. After many mornings stressing about my curly, tangled, frizzy hair I knew it was time to make my life a whole easier and get my hair done again. I use the Japanese method as opposed to the Brazilian and I absolutely love it!

If I am being totally honest here I have no idea where I bought this dress or when I bought it. I THINK I bought it around middle school or maybe early high school. What I love about this dress is its ode to a Puebla style dress. I love the eyelet and embroidered detailing that runs along the hemline, sleeves and neckline. My family is from Mexico so I love anything that play a little tribute to my culture. I paired the dress with some wedges in a neutral color because I wanted to the details of the dress to really stand out here. Wearing my hat and sunnies was the perfect touch for such a sunny day and it really gave this outfit a vacation style look.

Crop Top and Skirt: Target, Sandals: Wet Seal, Hat: Windsor, Bracelet: Kate Spade: Sunnies: Nordstrom BP.

As you already know, I have a mild, I mean major obsession with polka dots so it was only a matter of time till I created an entire look using some of my many polka dot pieces. Instead of wearing a skirt with the same black and white polka dot print as my crop top, I went for a more subtle approach and wore this skirt that has a polka dot pattern in a reduced size and color palette.

I recently bought this hat from Windsor and I am so happy with it! I am pretty picky when it comes to brim size and this seems to be the perfect match. I wore my favorite sunnies and some comfortable black sandals. I then topped it off with… yup, a polka dot bracelet. I thought, hey one more thing can’t hurt!
