Personalized

Tank Top: Boutique from Soho, NY Pants: Forever 21, Shoes: Franco Sarto via TJMaxx, Clutch: Kate Spade, Heart Bracelet: Things Remembered, Sunnies: Juicy Couture, Watch: Nordstrom BP.  (old)

When I say that I love personalized items, I mean I will cherish forever, you’re my best friend, big hug, LOVE personalized items. You see, my name is name is spelled quite differently. And after years of disappointment when looking for my name on key chains at Disneyland, I realized that I would have to get certain things personalized. Therefore, you can imagine my excitement when my mom bought me this heart bracelet from Things Remembered. BUT, I was even more excited when my mom bought me this special Kate Spade clutch. (Thank you Madre!!)  Not only have I been literally fantasizing about clutches lately, but it’s a special collaboration with French blogger and photographer Garance Dore. So in a way I felt like this was also very personalized because it’s an exclusive edition and I just like to think that Kate Spade made this personally for me (don’t laugh). And for the record, my new goal is to work at Kate Spade. Definitely my dream job!

Flowers and Coral

Blouse and Shorts: Forever 21, Purse and gold bangles: Juicy Couture, Shoes: Franco Sarto and cuff bracelet via  T.J.Maxx

What I love most about Forever 21 (besides the affordable prices and their on-point trends) is that every now and then I find something unique, versatile, and durable. I bought this blouse about 2 years ago. It has definitely been a wardrobe staple. I have dressed it up for business events with a black blazer and black slacks. I have also dressed it down with blue shorts and sandals. This outfit is sort of in between. I paired the blouse with this fun and bright coral short.  I love the cut and the big bow tied at the waist. I tucked the blouse in just behind the bow to give a more polished look. We were going to birthday dinner so I kept  the shoes in a neutral color and low wedge.

And I know I have been saying all summer that I need a hair cut but I am so attached to my long hair! I think another month or two won’t hurt?

Here are two outfits I created on Polyvore, using a pair of shorts very similar to mine. The first is how I would wear the shorts to school and the second look is how I would wear it on a fun night out.

School Wear- Coral Shorts
Feminine- Coral Shorts

Pleated shorts, $73 / High heel pumps, $100 / Alexander McQueen skull clutch, $7,305 / Dorothy Perkins bow jewelry / Yellow gold jewelry, $16

A Date Night Confession

Shirt: Last Kiss, Jeans: Target, Scarf: SUO Boutique, Shoes: Franco Sarto via TJMaxx, Watch: Nordstrom, Purse: H&M, Cuff: TJMaxx (borrowed from my mom)

Although my boyfriend and I have been together for a while, our date routine never gets old. Dinner and a movie. Okay, it’s not very original, but it really is the best date night combination. Over the weekend we went to my favorite cafe that has the best pear endive salad. Then we went to go watch the Dark Knight Rises, again. (My boyfriend is a huge batman fan). But here’s a little secret, I tend to sneak in treats into the theater. And I’m not talking about a bag of M&Ms. Nope, I’m talking frozen yogurt, Starbucks, and cupcakes! Yes, you heard right. I’m one of those people. I’m glad I finally got that out in the open. As for my outfit, I wore these red pants, also seen here. I am still easing my way into wearing such a bold color, that I paired it with a simple white blouse. I thew on a fun over sized scarf and small wedge. I knew were going to watch the Dark Night Rises, so I wanted to be comfortable while sitting for 3 hours. So worth it though! Does anyone else get chocked up when Alfred cries? Man, it gets me every time.

A Casual Weekend

Dress: Edge via TJMaxx, Sunnies: Local Boutique, Sandals: Target, Ring: Gift from my Boyfriend

After a week of really weird weather in Southern Cali, I was so grateful for this weekend sunshine. This dress was great for running around doing errands, taking my baby Rocky for a walk, and going out to eat with the family at a new local hot spot. I decided to wear my brown, braided sandals to compliment the belt on the dress. I also did a fun twist to the belt, as opposed to just tucking it in. I kept the jewelry at a minimal and wore my hair in a high, messy pony. I felt that this would coincide with the casual, yet stylish look I was going for. Rocky gave me a kiss as approval, and his opinion is all that matters.

My Ideal Summer Outfit

Hat: H&M, Sweater and Purse: Juicy Couture, Jeans and Tank Top: Target, Sandals: BCBG via TJMaxx

Ideal summer outfit? Yes, I know that is a big statement, but let me tell you why I plan on wearing this pretty much the rest of summer. Well first off, you may know by now that I LOVE anything nautical. (Confession: I wore stripe tank tops every day last week). So throwing on this sweater when it started to get a little chilly made me feel like I should be boarding a cruise ship. Then you have the mint jeans, which are not only an amazing color, but this pair from Target is super comfortable! Add a hat to cover my face from the sun and a straw tote to drape my arm and I am ready to go! By the way, the purse and sweater were on SALE. The four letter word that brings a smile to my face.

Also, to answer your question, my eyes are not closed in the last picture. That’s just how I look when I laugh really hard. Which means that’s how I look like 80% of the time.

Have a great Monday!

Feathers and Cars

Dress: Whitney Eve (spring 2011 collection) Belt: Target Shoes: D via TJMaxx, Purse: Juicy Couture

For Father’s Day, we started a tradition to go to the Beverly Hills Car Show on Rodeo Drive. My dad LOVES cars and my mom and I love to window shop, so it’s a win win situation. I wore this Whitney Eve dress that I bought at a sample sale. It was a great experience to shop around in Whitney Port’s showroom! I love the feathers on the dress and the fabric is light enough to wear on a hot day. I wore a high pony to show off the pretty neckline of the dress. Overall, I had such a nice day with my family and more importantly, I loved spending time with the greatest dad any girl could ask for.

Pink Floral Dress

Dress: Juicy Couture via Nordstrom Rack a few years ago, Purse: Juicy Couture, Shoes: D via TJMaxx, Ring: Forever 21

When I was in middle school my mom would reward me with a Juicy Couture purse for good grades at the end of the school year. At that age it was the most luxurious item given to me. Till this day I still have all my purses and continue to be the biggest Juicy Couture fan. Since their items are expensive, I now buy them at Nordstrom Rack or TJMaxx. I love this dress I bought a few years ago. It is so feminine and can be worn for many different occasions. I love the ruffles and the gold buttons on the colar. I styled my hair with stoft curls to add a more feminine touch. I wore this to a bridal shower, where I had such a great time with my cousins and family!

Yellow and Gray

Dress: Soprano via TJMaxx, Shoes: Frye via TJMaxx, Clutch: Betsey Johnson

I wore this outfit to my brothers ASB welcome dinner. He will be Senior Class President next year! We are so proud of him and all his hard work. I thought this outfit was the perfect balance of sophistication and youthfulness. I found this dress at TJMaxx for $10! What a steal! I wanted to add some pattern through my clutch. It plays really nicely against the gray backdrop of my dress. The yellow wedge definitely compliments summer.

Pop of Coral

Hat: Target, Dress: TJMaxx, Sandals: Target, Watch: Gifted, Nail Polish: Forever 21 in Purple

I consider myself two things: a scarf person and a hat person. During the winter you will catch me with a scarf almost every single day, and the same goes for hats in the summer. Not only do they protect the sun from my face but they are a great way to make a simple outfit put together. This dress from TjMaxx is comfortable and simple, but adds the perfect canvas for my Target hat that adds of a pop of color. Coral has definitely been my favorite color this season. What about you?

LBD: Summer Version

Dress: Element via my best Girlyfriend, Shoes: D via TjMaxx, Jewelry: Gifted via Boyfriend

This summer heat is starting to be unbearable. So when I when out to dinner and a movie with my boyfriend I knew I wanted to wear something very light and comfortable. Well, this is my version of the little back dress for a date night during summer. Paired with neutral wedges and fun bracelets was the way to go. And of course my hair in a high pony. I think it’s time for a haircut. Long hair and summer do not always agree. I also love the pop of color from my nail polish. Great deal at Target! Go check the Wet N’ Wild section for great summer colors.
